THIBODAUX, La. – LA 1 Coalition recently announced support for the legislative solution authored by Representative Tanner Magee (R-Houma) which funds critical Louisiana infrastructure projects, including additional improvements to Louisiana Highway 1 to Port Fourchon.
“The LA 1 Improvement Project is critical to the continued success of Port Fourchon,” said Greater Lafourche Port Commission executive director, Chett Chiasson. “Port Fourchon plays a pivotal role in our state and country’s economy, and LA 1 is the gateway to maintaining that success. We applaud the efforts of Representative Magee and support any effort that recognizes the importance of LA 1 to our nation’s energy needs.”
“The entire coalition is excited to see the critical funding needs of the LA 1 project addressed in this piece of legislation,” said LA 1 executive director, Henri Boulet. “We are grateful for all of the work Representative Magee continues to do to advocate for this vital improvement project’s completion. This legislative solution also helps provide the critical state funding needed to begin the process of seeking additional federal funds from the Department of Transportation.”
