City Stars Soirée Honoring the Rising Star Honorees

Presented by Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust

New Orleans – On Friday, Oct. 5 Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans (JAGNO) will honor its 15th class of Rising Stars at the 2018 City Stars Soirée.  The celebration, presented by the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust, will take place at JA BizTown located on the City Park Campus of Delgado Community College.  

JAGNO says A Rising Star is an individual chosen by JA who has displayed strong entrepreneurial skills with ethical and moral standards, and is a founder, co-founder, owner, co-owner, or a key person of a growing entrepreneurial business.

The Patron Party will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with the main event following from 7:30-11 p.m.

The individuals being honored in the 2018 Rising Stars class include: Stirling Barrett, founder, Krewe; Chad Berg, co-owner, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry; Mark Berger, owner/partner, Higher Power and Varsity Sports; Eddie Compass, IV,  co-founder,  president and CEO, Next Generation Marine; Crystal McDonald, founder and CEO, Acrew; David Hecht and Clayton Randle, Managing Directors, Ajax Holdings.

Tickets are just $75 per person or $125 per couple and allow guests to partake in delicious cuisine courtesy of New Orleans’ finest restaurants and libations provided by Cure, Republic National Distributing and Crescent Crown Distributing. Guests can also enjoy a silent auction featuring a wide selection of items. Proceeds from the event benefit JA programs in financial literacy, workforce development and entrepreneurship for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
