NEW ORLEANS– Today, the City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation reminded residents of this year’s remaining Recycling Drop Off Days, every second Saturday at 2829 Elysian Fields Ave., from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A recycling drop off day will be held tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 10.
Regularly accepted items include: newspapers, junk mail, phone books, catalogs, office paper, plastics: #1 through #7, small metal cans, cardboard, boxboard (i.e. cereal boxes), and waxboard (i.e. juice boxes), E-waste* (computers, laptops, cell/ telephones, telephone systems, cables, x-Boxes, playstations, Wii, MP3s, DVRs, DVDs, circuit boards, GPS, ink/toner cartridges, digital cameras/picture frames, fax machines, beepers, pagers, stereos, security systems, televisions (limit 4) ), batteries (AA, AAA, AAAA, C, D, 6 & 9 volt), light bulbs (incandescent and fluorescent) and tires (limit 4).
Below is the remaining 2015 schedule for the Recycling Drop Off Center.
• October 10 – Recycling Drop-Off
• November 14 – Shred Day – Iron Mountain will securely and confidentially shred up to 50 lbs. of documents at no charge
• December 12 – Recycling Drop-Off
