City Of New Orleans Issues Another Filming Notice For Residents

NEW ORLEANS – The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to New Orleans residents in the French Quarter and Algiers for Monday, April 20, through Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

 

French Quarter

         On Monday, April 20, 2015, a production company will film exterior scenes on Royal Street between Barracks and St. Ann Streets between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. There will be street closures westbound at Governor Nicholls and Royal streets, and northbound on Ursulines Street. There will also be a closure westbound on Royal Street at St. Philip Street and westbound on Royal Street at Dumaine Street, with traffic being allowed northbound on Dumaine Street through Royal Street intermittently.

         On Tuesday, April 21 through Wednesday, April 22, 2015, a production company will film exterior scenes on Chartres Street. As a result, the street will close from 1:00 a.m. until 4:00 a.m.

         On Monday, April 20, 2015, a production company will film exterior scenes at 701 Thayer Street. The sequence being filmed involves special effects containing simulated automatic gunfire. As a result, the street will close from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

         The New Orleans Fire Department and law enforcement will be on site to ensure public safety and help facilitate the work.

 

         Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

         In 2014, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of roughly $509 million.
