NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans issued a traffic advisory in advance of the Greater New Orleans Annual Veterans Day Parade today, Wednesday, November 11, 2015. The public is encouraged to be patient and to prepare for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the specific areas by making transportation arrangements accordingly.
Beginning at 11:45 a.m., the Greater New Orleans Annual Veterans Day Parade will form in front of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and proceed down Sugar Bowl Drive to Clara Street, turn right onto Clara Street towards Perdido Street, turn right on Perdido Street, stop at City Hall and proceed to Loyola Avenue, turn right on Loyola Avenue towards Poydras Street, turn left onto Loyola Avenue towards Canal Street, right on Canal Street to S. Peters Street, U-turn onto Canal Street, proceed on Canal Street towards Basin Street, turn right on Basin Street to Municipal Auditorium where the event will disband at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Parking enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Vehicles parking on the neutral ground are subject to a parking violation and seizure. Please note that vehicles parked in driveways must be clear of sidewalks or they will be ticketed or towed. Motorists are also reminded to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
