City Breaks Ground On New North Terminal At Louis Armstrong International Airport

NEW ORLEANS — Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join the New Orleans Aviation Board (NOAB), along with regional elected officials and business and tourism leaders, in Kenner, LA, to break ground on the new north terminal at Louis Armstrong International Airport at 2:00 p.m.

Construction manager Hunt-Gibbs-Boh-Metro will complete the new terminal for an opening date of Oct. 1, 2018.  In total, the project will generate nearly $1 billion in direct investment in the region.

The brand new, world-class airport terminal will serve as a crucial economic driver for the metropolitan region and will create over 13,000 new construction jobs. The 760,500 square-foot terminal will be constructed on the north side of the existing Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) property and will feature 30 gates and a 2,300-car parking garage.
