NEW ORLEANS — On Monday, April 17, beginning at 7:30 a.m., the City of New Orleans construction contractor, Roubion Roads and Streets, LLC, will begin a full closure of the southbound and northbound lanes of Nashville Avenue from S. Claiborne Street to S. Galvez Street to accommodate replacement of underground drainage and waterlines.
Northbound traffic will be detoured to Broadway Street via Claiborne Avenue and southbound traffic will be detoured to Fontainebleau Drive.
The NOPD will provide traffic control services during peak travel times.
Nashville Avenue will reopen to traffic on April 27.
The lane closure is part of the $1.8 million S. Johnson Street and Melodia Court full-depth reconstruction project that improves roadways, sidewalks and subsurface utilities. Construction is expected to be complete this spring.
