LAFAYETTE, LA – Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board will host the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off today, Tuesday, June 20, at the Cajundome Convention Center, 444 Cajundome Blvd., in Lafayette.
The 10th annual cook-off will showcase the talent of 18 chefs from various cities across the state of Louisiana, each vying for the title of King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood.
New Orleans chefs competing include Chef Eric Cook from Bourbon House, 144 Bourbon St., Chef Austin Kirzner from Red Fish Grill, 115 Bourbon St., and Chef Nathan Richard from Cavan, 3607 Magazine St.
While the event is marking a decade in existence, this will be the first time it has been held in Lafayette, which has more restaurants per capita than any other American city, event reps said. The cook-off will take place in conjunction with the opening of Eat Lafayette.
Chefs will compete from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., and a winner will be announced at 7:45 p.m.
