NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans foodies and philanthropists will unite on Monday, June 5, when Chef Nina Compton will host a very special dinner at her award-winning restaurant Compère Lapin, located in the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery at 535 Tchoupitoulas St.
Compton, a James Beard 2017 finalist who was recently named one of the “Best New Chefs in America” by Food & Wine, has assembled a top-tier team of toques to create a unique multi-course dinner to benefit No Kid Hungry® – the non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America.
Nearly one in six children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than one in four kids in Louisiana. No Kid Hungry® is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry® and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger to more than 500 million meals.
On Monday, June 5, guests will gather to enjoy culinary delights from Compton and guest chefs Aussie native Executive Chef Aaron Brooks of Edge Steakhouse at the Four Seasons Miami; Michael Pirollo, award-winning chef/owner of Macchialina on Miami Beach; and Food & Wine’s “2016 Best New Chef” Michael Guilotta of Maypop and Mopho in New Orleans.
The cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by seated dinner and live auction at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are priced at $150 per person and are all-inclusive.
