NEW ORLEANS – Chaffe McCall, L.L.P. announced it has elected New Orleans attorney E. Howell Crosby to serve as the firm’s new Managing Partner. This move provides a fresh perspective on several of Chaffe McCall’s key focus areas in serving its expanding client needs, office reps said. As managing partner, Crosby will play a leading role in ensuring the firm's continued commitment to client service and attorney excellence, as well as strengthening its dedication to diversity and pro bono work.
Crosby joined Chaffe McCall in 1983 and is head of the firm’s Real Estate and Finance sections and a member of the firm's Management Committee. He is considered an experienced and respected lawyer with over 30 years of commercial transactions experience. “Crosby will serve as a great steward for the firm and I am confident he will provide the leadership necessary to continue moving our firm forward,” current Managing Partner, John Olinde, said. “I look forward to working with him in his new position.”
Crosby will transition into the new leadership role of managing partner effective January 1, 2016.

At Chaffe McCall, Crosby represents lenders and developers in all phases of business and real estate matters. In addition to his practice and counseling work, he is Past President of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and a Member of the American College of Real Estate Attorneys. During 1999 and 2000, Crosby was appointed and served as the Interim District A New Orleans City Council Member. He holds his J.D. and MBA from Tulane University and is licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi.
The firm also announces that Philip B. Sherman has been elected as a Partner effective January 1, 2016. Sherman joined Chaffe McCall in 2006 and concentrates his practice on Real Estate and Business law. Outside of the firm, Sherman has served on a number of committees, including the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, STAIR, and Young Leadership Council. “It’s an exciting time to be at Chaffe McCall,” said Sherman. “I look forward to helping grow the presence of Chaffe McCall and serving clients here and nationally.”
