LAKE CHARLES, LA – Chaffe McCall, LLP welcomed a new addition to its growing Lake Charles office. Attorney Michael D. Carleton will assist clients in complex real estate and transaction matters as a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate and Business and Transactions sections.
“The addition of Mike Carleton reflects our current initiative to significantly increase our Lake Charles presence,” said Firm Managing Partner E. Howell Crosby. “His skills in business- transaction matters enhance our expanding real-estate /transactions practice.”
Chaffe McCall reps said Carleton, a 30-year veteran of legal services, is a highly experienced attorney with a notable career, who will continue his focus on commercial real estate law in the areas of real estate planning, structured finance, and commercial and probate matters. He represents clients on property title examination, title insurance, and closing services in both residential and commercial transactions. In addition, he has experience in closing FAA titled aircraft and US Coast Guard documented vessel loans.
Carleton joins Chaffe McCall, LLP from Woodley Williams, LLC where he was a Member in the Lake Charles office in the areas of Real Estate; Probate, Successions, Estate Planning; and Corporate and Commercial law.
The addition of Carleton to the firm expands Chaffe McCall’s Lake Charles office, which was established in 2013. “I’m looking forward to contributing to Chaffe McCall’s Real Estate and Business and Transactions sections in the Lake Charles area,” said Carleton. “The firm’s continued growth in the Lake Charles market and focus in this area are what attracted me to the firm.”
Carleton is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and Past President and Member of Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of South Lake Charles. He earned his law degree from Louisiana State University Law Center in 1982 and his B.A. degree from Louisiana State University in 1979.
