CFO Walthers Celebrates 10 Years At SRSA

METAIRIE, LA – Tara Walthers, Chief Financial Officer at SRSA Commercial Real Estate, SRSA Gulf South Management and Gulf South Commercial Construction is celebrating 10 years of service at the company.

         Walthers' responsibilities include supervision of one full-time bookkeeper, monthly variance explanations for all revenue and expense accounts, preparation of annual budgets, reconciliation of CAM charges, assisting with property acquisitions and sales, complete analysis and review of all monthly financial statements for 27 third-party managed properties, payroll processing, and occasional human resources duties.

         Prior to joining SRSA in 2005, Walthers was employed by M.B.S. Management, a Louisiana-based company ranking in the top 25, multi-family management companies in the state of Texas. During her four-year tenure as director of financial reporting, she supervised financial operations which included the hiring, training and supervision of two staff accountants, the creation and preparation of bi-monthly payroll entry for the organization's 500 employees, the presentation of all acquisition, refinancing and sales entries to the chief operating officer and corporate president, assisting in the annual budgeting process, preparing quarterly financial statements and the preparation of annual tax returns on all corporate entities. In addition, her department was responsible for accurate and timely preparation of 65 monthly financial statements for apartment and townhouse complexes.

         Previously, Walthers was the apartment financial accountant for Sizeler Properties and oversaw financial operations for 15 apartment properties (3,257 units) located in Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. She was solely responsible for the hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision of three staff accountants and in addition to her financial duties, helped to develop guidelines for the review of capitalized asset accounts – including office leasing and investment sales.

         Walthers graduated magna cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
