MONROE, LA (AP) — CenturyLink says dozens of positions will be reduced in Louisiana as part of the company's proposal to eliminate 1,000 jobs companywide.
Annmarie Sartor tells The News-Star’s Scott Rogers the company will cut the headcount in Louisiana by about 55 positions. She did not indicate when the layoffs were expected to begin.
CenturyLink, the largest public company headquartered in Louisiana, said earlier this month the cuts will affect CenturyLink's entire operations.
CenturyLink employs about 44,000 workers globally and about 2,700 in Louisiana, most of whom are in the corporate headquarters in Monroe.
