MANDEVILLE, LA – Talley, Anthony, Hughes and Knight, one of the largest law firms on Lake Pontchartrain’s Northshore, has welcomed seasoned defense trial lawyer Bruce Cranner as its newest partner.
Currently serving as National Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance Counsel to two Fortune 500 companies and several major insurance carriers, Cranner brings a long tenure of medical liability as well as product liability defense to the firm. His core of healthcare and products liability clients – from physicians and facilities and their insurers to product manufacturers – brings a new dimension to Talley Anthony’s extensive range of disciplines.
Cranner has widespread experience with cases involving severe injuries and fatalities. He is often retained as special “settlement counsel” due to experience defending mass tort personal injury claims and his unique understanding of the Medicare Secondary Payer laws and regulations. A former Adjunct Professor at Tulane Law School, Cranner frequently lectures on topics involving the Medicare Secondary Payer Act /Sec.111 Compliance.

As a leader of the Legal Task Force of the Sports and Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), Cranner serves as Program Chair and Moderator for the annual SFIA Litigation, Regulation and Risk Management Summit. He is a past Chair of the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee of The DRI–The Voice of the Defense Bar and a past member of the Board of the DRI. He currently serves on the DRI’s MSP Task Force and in other positions of leadership. Having penned many articles and book chapters, Cranner’s most recent work includes portions of The DRI Defense Practitioners’ Guide to Medicare Secondary Payer Issues.
