NEW ORLEANS – The women of FestiGals will take it to the streets for the 6th annual Stiletto Stroll on Saturday, July 30, 2016, offering the opportunity to participate in an authentic New Orleans walking parade while raising money for The New Orleans Family Justice Center.
FestiGals is gearing up to make this the world’s largest all women’s second line complete with music, entertainers, dance groups and the all-female Universe Brass Band. At 7:30 p.m., the crowds will saunter from a free pre-party at Harrah’s with Gal Holiday & the Honk Tonk Review through the streets of the Warehouse District to Mardi Gras World where party-goers will enjoy the tunes of Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters at the fabulous After-Glow Party to start at 8:30 p.m.
New Orleans beloved media celebrity, Angela Hill, will headline the Stiletto Stroll as Grand Diva.
This year’s parade’s theme, “shining light on domestic violence,” encourages women to join in the fun by creating their own parade groups and contributing to the fundraising effort.
FestiGals is donating proceeds of the event to the New Orleans Family Justice Center, which helps families and individuals suffering from domestic violence.
Founded in 2007, The New Orleans Family Justice Center’s mission is to end family violence, child abuse and sexual assault by providing comprehensive, client-centered empowerment services in one location. The organization is guided by the core values of being survivor driven, safety focused, culturally competent and having an integrated response based on knowledge and prevention.
