Catholic Charities Offers Free Financial Education Workshop For LaPlace Residents

LAPLACE, LA – Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans will offer a free financial education workshop for residents of St. John Parish on Saturday, June 17, at the LaPlace Library, 2920 US Highway 51, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

         The Spending Budget Tracker Workshop will teach participants how to maximize their income and create a weekly cash flow budget that will allow them to track their spending habits to identify wants, needs and obligations, event organizers said.

         The Spending Budget Tracker Workshop is one session from the series of six lessons that will be introduced in the Fall.

         Funded by St. John United Way, the lessons will help individuals improve their budgeting skills, learn bill paying tips, review debt, understand credit scores, establish emergency funds and plan for long-term goals and life events.

         Catholic Charities case managers will also work with St. John residents to assess their individual needs and develop a plan to help improve their financial stability.

         The Spending Budget Tracker Workshop is free to residents of St. John Parish.
