Cancer Center Seeks Adults With Multiple Myeloma For Study

ACADIANA (AP) — The Cancer Center of Acadiana is looking for men and women who have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma to participate in a clinical trial to compare the effectiveness of medications.

         The Advocate reports the center at Lafayette General Medical Center is comparing the effectiveness of a combination of investigational medications among patients with previously untreated multiple myeloma ineligible for high-dose therapy.

         The study is a Phase III clinical trial. Drugs that pass in the category may be approved for use in the general population.
