Canal Street RPM FroYo Changes Name, Concept, Adds King Cake Croissants

NEW ORLEANS — Owners of RPM FroYo on 819 Canal Street said local and international customer demand has driven them to rebrand their frozen yogurt shop.

RPM FroYo has been open for 2 years and served frozen yogurt, smoothies, and ice cream. The newly branded FroYo Café and Sweets will offer more.

“When customer after customer came into the store looking for coffee, pastries or other items, we listened and modified the store to succeed,” Katherine Sutton, Operating Partner and Manager, said.

Sutton said they’ll be adding King Cake Croissants™ to their menu, which are locally prepared by Chef Eric Damidot.

She said the idea came to her when asking herself, “What will make FroYo a top 10 destination location in the City of New Orleans? It has to be a unique product that no one has on the market, yet appeals to locals and tourists. It has to be a little different, have a New Orleans appeal, and can be served year-round as a specialty item for tourists to enjoy.”

FroYo opened in November 2012, by Richard Mueller, Jr., and his operating partner Sutton. The FroYo Café and Sweet Shop, will serve the King Cake Croissant™, 24 flavors of yogurt self served in 8 machines, more than 100 unique and fun toppings, and 16 real fruit and protein smoothies.
