NEW ORLEANS – L.H. Hayward & Company, the 96-year-old purveyors of the beloved Camellia Brand red bean, will celebrate the season of giving be serving complimentary bowls of hot red beans and rice from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside of the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI), 725 Howard Ave.
This year’s event will feature a 120-foot-long community table. All are welcome to grab a spot, and it’s Camellia’s hope that the table will attract members of the community to gather around and share conversation over a New Orleans culinary staple.
“We’re excited to engage with the community and partner with NOCHI for this event as we continue this tradition while creating new memories,” said fourth- generation Camellia owner and CEO Vince Hayward. “Together we’ll gather as one at a community table to share conversation and a hot bowl of Camellia red beans and rice.”
The popularity of New Orleans’ iconic red beans and rice has made Camellia’s red kidney bean the top-selling red bean in the country.
