NEW ORLEANS — Bywater American Bistro is now just “BABs.”
On Jan. 19, chef Nina Compton and her husband/business partner Larry Miller unveiled a “retouched, refocused and redesigned” — not to mention re-branded — version of their nearly six-year-old restaurant located in the Rice Mill Lofts at 2900 Chartres Street.
The culinary pair said they paused operations at the restaurant for a “carefully calibrated aesthetic overhaul and a strategic menu refocus” that has led to a warmer, more rustic space and an emphasis on comfort-driven dishes from Compton, a James Beard Award-winning chef. A new wine cellar will house the restaurant’s award-winning list. New signage is coming soon.
Compton and Miller also operate Compère Lapin in the Warehouse District.
