NEW ORLEANS – The Urban League of Louisiana will host its annual Veterans Small Business Breakfast and Resources Summit as an extension of National Veterans Small Business Week, which takes place from Monday, Nov. 5, through Friday, Nov. 9. The Women's Business Resource Center will help host the event.
"The Urban League of Louisiana hosts this annual event to thank our veteran entrepreneurs for their service, to celebrate their business accomplishments, and to support their aspirations," said Klassi Duncan, the director of the Women's Business Resource Center. "We also want to ensure that they have access to the most up-to-date information about the resources that are available to start and grow their businesses."
During this event, Urban League will highlight the role of veteran's entrepreneurship in southeast Louisiana, and also provide a forum for for resources-sharing, storytelling, and connections. Veteran entrepreneurs will learn about the resources available to them and their spouses, to launch or grow their businesses.
"There are more than 9.2 million veteran-owned businesses in the U.S., and that number is growing," said Duncan. "This is because there are more opportunities and resources being provided for veteran entrepreneurs to use their leadership and managerial skills towards small business ownership after service."
The free event happens on Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Urban League of Louisiana (4640 South Carrollton Avenue, suite 110, New Orleans, LA 70119). Seating is limited. Guests can register for the event here.
