Bridge Work Will Force I-10 Lane Closures

SLIDELL, LA (AP) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says in a news release that work to repair expansion joints on the Interstate 10 Bridge over the Pearl River at the Louisiana-Mississippi line will require lane closures for two weekends.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friday, DOTD says one lane of I-10 in each direction will be closed until 6:00 a.m. Monday, a process that will be repeated the following weekend, from 7:00 p.m. Oct. 24, until 6:00 a.m. Oct. 27.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation crews will work 24 hours a day to complete repairs on their side of the bridge.
