NEW ORLEANS – It's a rarity for a restaurant to publish a children's book, but Brennan's restaurant in the French Quarter took the lead to publish a children's book that is both playful and educational in its chronicling of 300 years of New Orleans.
A Topsy, Turvy History of New Orleans & Ten Tiny Turtles is Brennan's restaurant's first published children’s book, created for the 2018 Tricentennial of New Orleans.
The author, Simone Rathlé, and respected illustrator, Tania Lee, have penned this magical tale of Ten Tiny Turtles at Brennan’s, whose lives took a “topsy turvy” path throughout the city’s celebrated 300 years. It is published by Hoffman Media
The picture book takes the reader on a journey alongside the turtles through threatening times and festive moments, from the Battle of New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina to the first Mardi Gras, when jazz first erupted in New Orleans and, of course, breakfast at Brennan’s.
A Topsy, Turvy History of New Orleans & Ten Tiny Turtles is designed for children ages 4-12 years old.
The book will be available for sale at Brennan's restaurant beginning February 1 and costs $16.95.
