NEW ORLEANS – Capital One Bank associates teamed up with Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans Inc. and Breakthrough New Orleans on Friday, July 14, to help students attending Breakthrough’s summer program learn how to budget and manage money so they can practice effective money-management skills.
The students visited the Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park, 5100 Orleans Ave.
Breakthrough New Orleans was created to prepare high-potential students with limited resources for academically rigorous educational experiences.
Capital One Bank associates from greater New Orleans shared money-management advice with Breakthrough New Orleans summer program students who were challenged to “live” a fictional life situation, with marital status, children, job and salary. The program teaches them to create and successfully use a budget and make decisions about saving, spending, investing and philanthropic giving, organizers said.
