[Brc-membership] Lower Mississippi River (LMR) Dredging Update 32216

CONTINUING Navigation Restrictions in the Area of Southwest Pass (SWP):

The Associated Branch Pilots of the Port of New Orleans (Bar Pilots) recommended maximum draft for all for all vessels transiting SWP remains 43 feet. This draft restriction became effective at 1030 hours on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.  

The Associated Federal Pilots and Docking Masters of Louisiana, LCC’s maximum draft recommendation for SWP remains 43 feet. This maximum draft recommendation also became effective on March 9, 2016 (specifically from the Southwest Pass Sea Buoy to the Old Quarantine Anchorage at Mile 3.5 Above Head of Passes [AHP]).

The Corps Mississippi Valley New Orleans (MVN) continues to concentrate the available dredges to recovering the reduced channel dimensions at Cubits Gap (Mile 4 Above Head of Passes [AHP] to Mile 2 AHP), the Head of Passes and in the jetty reach of SWP.
