ABOUT
Louisiana’s vulnerable children and families deserve compassionate, effective care—and Boys Town Louisiana provides it to them. The organization—a local site of a national group founded over a century ago by Father Edward Flanagan—has used research-proven models to help relieve the pressures of poverty and create an environment of social and economic success for children and family for over three decades.
EVENTS
On Saturday, June 6, Boys Town Louisiana will host their first Downtown Dash, an urban scavenger hunt in which teams of five will compete against one another in a race to solve clues, riddles and challenges throughout downtown New Orleans, finishing with an after party at the Rusty Nail. Then, on Saturday, October 17, they host their annual Gala & Awards Dinner at the Higgins Hotel, honoring individuals, corporations and community partners who make possible their continued service after 31 years.
MISSION
Boys Town Louisiana is dedicated to changing the way America cares for children through direct youth care and community-based prevention services. Through their care, preventative and partnership programs, they are investing in the children of Louisiana.
DONATIONS
Boys Town’s national office provides efficient in-kind administrative overhead, which means 100 percent of local donations go to direct support of youth and family programs with Boys Town Louisiana. Among the programs that are supported are two residential youth programs, Early Head Start School Readiness Partnership, and a host of other preventative programs that link struggling families with resources and parenting help. Through their intervention and prevention, they steer 7,000 Louisiana children and families towards success each year.
