MARRERO, LA (AP) — "The Voice" contestant Tonya Boyd-Cannon has been picked to reign as grand marshal for the Krewe of Athena's Mardi Gras parade, which rolls through suburban New Orleans on Friday.
The carnival club announced Boyd-Cannon's selection Wednesday.
The all-female krewe is Jefferson Parish's newest krewes and will parade with nearly 250 members in its second year. This year's theme is "Krewe of Athena Tops 'Dat."
