NEW ORLEANS – Urban Properties Real Estate – a New Orleans-based commercial brokerage, property management and development firm – announced it has hired Remi Bourque as a strategic planning intern.
In this role, Bourque’s focus is working closely with Urban’s development team and the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission on the implementation plan for the proposed Churchill Technology and Business Park Master Plan in Avondale, La. While working with JEDCO, she will identify key stakeholders and discuss overall goals for the property and establish a comprehensive list of targeted uses. She will also have the chance to interact with Urban’s clients across their principal business lines of real estate development, property management, and commercial brokerage.
“Remi has already taken a deep dive into our implementation project with JEDCO for its Churchill Park Master Plan,” said Michael Bucher, partner and director of development at Urban Properties. “This is a great opportunity for her to get a front-row seat to the early-stage planning process of a large-scale development.”
Currently, Bourque is a candidate for the Tulane University School of Architecture’s Masters of Sustainable Real Estate Development program. The MSRED program is an interdisciplinary graduate program that provides students with skills in business, sustainable design, urbanism, and legal issues. She recently graduated with a degree in finance and real estate from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business.
She has previously worked for a real estate development firm in New Orleans and a commercial brokerage firm in Dallas. As a native of south Louisiana, Bourque is excited to be back living in New Orleans and working for Urban. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures and cities across the world.
