NEW ORLEANS – The Young Lawyers section of the New Orleans Bar Association sponsored the 15th Annual New Orleans Bar & Grille, Saturday, May 20, at the Peristyle in City Park from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Teams of three amateur chefs from local companies and law firms participated in a cook-off that helped raise money for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, a nonprofit corporation that serves individuals and families who, without legal assistance, would lose a critical human need – food, shelter, income, medical care, personal safety or parental care, reps said.
The New Orleans Bar & Grille is a unique opportunity that brings the legal community and private business together for this worthwhile cause, reps said.
Bourgeois Bennett Certified Public Accountants and Consultants was one of 23 groups who competed for “Best Local Favorite,” “Best Dessert,” “Best Traditional Dish,” “Most Creative,” “Best Booth Decoration,” “Crowd Favorite” and “Best Overall” awards.
Bourgeois Bennett won awards in the “Best Traditional Dish” and “Most Creative” categories.
After the competition, all of the leftover food was donated to the Ozanam Inn homeless shelter at 843 Camp St.
