Blue Oak BBQ to Give Away 700 Meals

From Blue Oak BBQ:

Blue Oak BBQ is offering a special initiative to the hospitality workers who have been furloughed or laid off due to the widespread ramifications of COVID-19.

Last weekend, co-founders Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley offered free Bag and Beer lunches with pork sandwiches, chips and beer to over 300 restaurant industry members.

This Saturday, March 28, from 12pm until they run out, Blue Oak BBQ will again be offering free Bag and Beer lunches to this community. In partnership with Dixie Beer and Elmer’s,  they will be bagging up pork sandwiches, chips and beer to help alleviate the burden our industry is facing right now. 700 meals will be available for distribution. The team kindly asks everyone to accept one meal per person so we can help as many people as possible.

Meals will be distributed at 3300 Gravier Street, New Orleans LA 70119 and the team will be offering this service drive-thru style. Look for the Blue Oak tent to enter and folks will be on site to assist.

In the meantime, Blue Oak BBQ is still open to the public all week during usual hours in the form of pick up/ take out. You can order online at https://www.blueoakbbq.com or via phone at (504) 822-2583. “We’re amazed and humbled at the show of support you’ve already shown.  We’re offering fried chicken sandwiches daily now, our cold pack meals for the family still come with stress relief pigs and TP while supplies last. Every sale makes such a difference for our team – thank you!”
