NEW ORLEANS – Blitch Knevel Architects, an award winning architectural firm, announced Adam Shields has joined the firm as an Intern Architect.
Shields joined the firm in November 2016. In this position, he works in all phases of design and production, where he will be responsible for drafting architectural designs, managing printing responsibilities and corresponding with firm consultants while gaining project management experience. The focus of his work will be in healthcare and educational facility design.
Shields earned both a Bachelor and Masters of Architecture from Tulane University in May 2016. A native of Austin, Texas, he now resides in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans.
“I’m intrigued by how New Orleans’s gradual transition to modernity remains secondary to its maintenance of historic culture,” Shields said. “I’m excited to be part of the BKA team and participate in this process firsthand.”
Blitch Knevel was founded in 1958 and specializes in healthcare, educational, institutional and religious facilities. The firm has offices in downtown New Orleans and in historic downtown Covington, LA.
