‘Black Tie Auctioneer’ Mutz Awarded Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) Designation

NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans area businessman and founder of The Black Tie Auctioneer Chuck Mutz announced he is one of only 251 professional auctioneers nationwide, and the only one in Louisiana, to earn the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation administered through the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).

The BAS program trains auctioneers to enhance their benefit auction services. Coursework focuses on the fundraising components of the benefit auction event, item acquisition, audience development, contractual agreements and public relations.

Mutz has been a licensed auctioneer for 32 years, and has helped raise more than $40 million. In the past 5 years, he’s raised more than $3 million for nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits average 30 to 40 percent greater proceeds when they engage a professional benefit auctioneer for their event, Mutz said.
