Binder To Seek Reelection In St. Tammany District 12

MANDEVILLE, LA – St. Tammany Parish Councilman Jerry Binder will seek reelection this fall.

         Binder, who first won the District 12 seat in 2003, has been unopposed since. He has served four terms as Council Chair. Prior to serving at the Parish level, Binder was a Slidell City Councilman.

         "It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the good people of this district, and I hope they will return me to office for another term," Binder said.

         Binder, 64, is retired from a private-sector career in management and marketing,

         "More than ever, I have the time to give to the people of this community," he said. "I've always gone the extra mile to fulfill my obligations, but with my work life complete and my children all grown, I can devote even more of myself to public service."

         He and his wife, Ruth Calamari Binder, have been married for 40 years and have eight grown children.
