Bastille Day Wreath Laying Takes Place At New Place De France, French Market Tomorrow

NEW ORLEANS – The annual Council Of French Societies wreath laying ceremony honoring Bastille Day will take place Friday, July 14, at the new Place de France in the French Marker beneath the Joan of Arc Statue at 1000 Decatur St., at 10:00 a.m.

         The wreath laying takes place at 10:15 a.m.

         The singing of the French National Anthem, La Marseillaise, will start at 10:20 a.m. Mme Givonna Joseph and Mme Aria Mason with the New Orleans Opera and Opera Creole will lead the guests in song.

         The public is invited to a reception at 10:30 p.m. with liquid refreshment and cupcakes following the ceremony (while supplies last).
