METAIRIE, LA — Courtney Davis, CEO of Bart’s Office Inc. in Metairie, has been named chair of the National Federation of Independent Business state Leadership Council.
The 13-member Leadership Council is an advisory board that assists the association in developing strategies to support small businesses throughout the state. Leadership Council members are nominated either by NFIB's state director or current board members and elected by the council.
Davis is a recent graduate of the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business/ Women’s Business Enterprise Council (WBEC) exchange program. She was a 2014 recipient of WBEC South’s 20th Anniversary Champion Award for promoting women in business. In 2015, Davis was named Family-Owned Business Champion for Louisiana by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Bart’s Office has been a member of NFIB since 2012.
“Courtney cares tremendously about the free enterprise system and ensuring that small businesses have an even playing field,” said Dawn Starns, state director of NFIB. “We’re glad she accepted this leadership position.”
NFIB is the state’s leading small-business association with offices in Washington, D.C. and all 50 state capitals, reps said.
