BancorpSouth Extends Merger Agreements

TUPELO, MS (AP) — BancorpSouth has received some extra time to complete merger agreements with Central Community Corp. of Temple, Texas and Ouachita Banchares Corp. of West Monroe, Louisiana.

The company said in a news release Tuesday that the agreements have been extended to Dec. 31 of this year. The boards of all three banks have approved the mergers, as have the shareholders of Central Community and Ouachita.

The mergers, first announced in January 2014, encountered some regulatory hiccups, forcing BancorpSouth to delay the mergers.
