NEW ORLEANS – Baker Donelson announced an alliance with LegalShift, LLC, a consulting and business advisory service focused on helping in-house legal teams and their law firms better manage legal portfolios, improve business operations, and reduce legal spend and costs.
LegalShift offers services designed to help law departments enhance predictability and transparency of their legal matters via legal project management, process and organization improvement, and technology advisory services. Baker Donelson has developed industry-leading legal process efficiencies and tools over many years and has long offered those services to its clients to improve the management of their legal portfolios.
Baker Donelson Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ben C. Adams said, "In-house legal departments are under ever-increasing pressure to manage their legal portfolios more effectively while reducing costs. Baker Donelson has addressed that need for our clients by offering systems and tools for more systematic planning and budget accountability in the management of legal matters. We're very excited to make these solutions more readily available to a broader segment of the legal industry through our alliance with LegalShift."
Baker Donelson was one of the first firms in the United States to develop its own unique approach to legal project management: BakerManage™, a patent-pending tool that, combined with Lean Six Sigma processes, improves the management of legal matters and leads to greater budget predictability and transparency. The BakerManage™ system has been identified as a best practice by legal consultants, and the process has been incorporated into the American Bar Association's Legal Project Management Bootcamp program.
"Our alliance with LegalShift is a natural extension of Baker Donelson's long-established legal project management services, which have been very successful in helping our clients improve the predictability and efficiency of their legal portfolios," said David A. Rueff Jr., the Firm's Legal Project Management Officer. "LegalShift builds on Baker Donelson's extensive experience in this area by bringing the benefits of our technology and processes to legal departments regardless of whether we are their legal services provider."
