Bacchus Bash Kicks Off Annual Mardi Gras Music Festival Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – The Bacchus Bash, the annual, indoor/ outdoor Mardi Gras block party which started in 1987, will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016, from Generations Hall, located at 310 Andrew Higgins Dr.

         The popular Mardi Gras tradition is free to the general public, and organizers said the estimated crowd this year should reach 7,000.

         Bacchus Bash 2016 will also serve as the city’s largest Super Bowl viewing party this year. Generations Hall will bring in a gigantic LED screen that will broadcast the game and will also show Super Bowl 50 on dozens of televisions throughout the venue. Each year Bacchus Bash attracts thousands of Sunday’s parade riders and revelers celebrating the big weekend before Mardi Gras since Generations Hall is just blocks away from all the downtown parade routes.

         This year’s Bacchus Bash also features “Red Bull Thre3Style Champion” Eskei83, DJ Mannie Fresh, DJ Spin, DJ Wixx and DJ TAF, and the Ugly Dog Saloon and the La Cocinita Food Truck will provide a variety of tasty food options.

         The outdoor /indoor block party is free and open to the public, but VIP tickets are available for $100 each which include access to the outdoor grandstand, private rooms and bathrooms inside and an open bar.
