NEW ORLEANS – Although the 100-300 blocks of Bourbon Street are currently undergoing construction, the surrounding establishments remain open for business.
Arnaud’s Remoulade Restaurant, 309 Bourbon St., is encouraging locals and visitors to bypass the roadwork and escape the summer heat to enjoy its “Seven ‘til 7” daily happy hour specials, including half off select menu items, paired with specialty drinks, seven days a week.
From June 12 – September 4, from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., offerings will include:
• Monday: Red Beans and Rice
Pairing: Pothole (rye whiskey and root beer, $4)
• Tuesday: Taster Tuesday (a choice of Remoulade’s Taste of the Bayou, Taste of New Orleans or Taste of Louisiana platters)
Pairing: The Jackhammer (gin, Pimm’s, lemon juice, strawberry and cucumber syrup, $4)
• Wednesday: Chargrilled and Raw Oysters
Pairing: Local Beer ($3)
• Thursday: Shrimp Arnaud, Oysters Arnaud, Turtle Soup
Pairing: Sazerac ($4)
• Friday: Fried Meat and Crawfish Pies
Pairing: French 75 ($4)
ª Saturday: N’awlins Nachos
Pairing: Watch Your Step (tequila, lime juice, ginger beer, crème de cassis, $4)
• Sunday: Chicken and Waffles
Pairing: Milk Punch ($4)
The improvements being made on Bourbon Street blocks 100-800 will continue through December and will impact every business on Bourbon and its surrounding areas. The overhaul is intended to repair the surface of Bourbon Street and its underground infrastructure as a part of the Citywide Public Safety Improvement Program by both the City of New Orleans and the Sewage and Water Board.
