Area Development: Louisiana Ranks 5th For Doing Business In The Nation

NEW ORLEANS – Area Development magazine’s annual “Top States for Doing Business” survey ranks Louisiana fifth for the second year in a row.

         The survey relies on site selection consultants around the nation to produce the report’s findings.

         Louisiana has ranked in the Top 10 for seven straight years.

         The magazine also ranks Louisiana first for speed of permitting, second for leading workforce development programs, fourth for incentive programs, cooperative state government and most favorable regulatory environment, sixth for competitive utility rates, seventh for certified sites or shovel-ready programs and ninth for overall cost of doing business.

         Area Development reports, “Industry experts at Louisiana Economic Development are highly knowledgeable in their fields and can respond quickly to prospective companies interested in relocation or expansion.”
