NEW ORLEANS – Capital One Bank is accepting applications for its Getting Down to Business small business development program in greater New Orleans.
The application deadline has been extended to Monday, March 6.
The free program, now in its seventh year in New Orleans, begins Tuesday, March 7. Offered over several months, the program is designed to provide qualified business owners with information and guidance to help them grow their businesses.
The program will be held Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m., with future dates to be announced later, at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation’s Community Room, 1205 North Rampart St.
The 15-course, in-depth curriculum was developed by Capital One’s Community Development Banking team and local partners that include the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC),The BridgePath, Goodwork Network, LiftFund and the Urban League of Greater New Orleans.
Created by Capital One Bank, Getting Down to Business programs offer qualified business owners an opportunity to grow their businesses by increasing their knowledge of credit, budgeting, marketing, business plans, financing, accounting best practices, networking, insurance and much more. The program includes a matched savings component of up to $2,000 that the business owners can use for operations, staffing or the purchase of supplies upon completion of the program. In addition, participants are paired with knowledgeable professionals and volunteers who serve as mentors during the class sessions and for a year following the completion of the program.
Through an integrated approach called ‘Investing for Good,’ Capital One Bank orchestrates the delivery of core banking services along with specialized community development, philanthropic and volunteer support to generate lasting, local community impact and valuable business results. “The Getting Down to Business program is a great example of how we bring Investing for Good to life in greater New Orleans,” said Karen DeBlieux, Southeast Louisiana Market President for Capital One Bank.
The Getting Down to Business program will be limited to 15 participants who will be selected through an application and interview process.
