NEW ORLEANS – AOS Interior Environments, local design-assist firm, will host a free virtual panel on resiliency in nonprofits at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16. Leadership from the Historic New Orleans Collection, Louisiana Children’s Museum, Son of a Saint, KID smART and the Young Leadership Council will gather to discuss short- and long-term strategies for responding to community needs, maximizing impact and serving a steadfast mission.
The panel will consist of Daniel Hammer, president and CEO of the Historic New Orleans Collection; Julia Bland, CEO of the Louisiana Children’s Museum; Bivian “Sonny” Lee III, founder and CEO of Son of a Saint; Elise Gallinot Goldman, executive director of KID smART; and Kevin Ferguson, board president of the Young Leadership Council.
“In the wake of COVID-19, nonprofits have had to cancel crucial fundraisers, shift programming, reimagine events and creatively engage supporters to continue their missions. While donations have decreased, their services and impact on local communities are more important than ever. Nonprofits have risen to the challenge with even tighter budgets, reduced staff and volunteers, and new strategies to fulfill immediate needs while using this time as an opportunity to refocus their purpose,” said Rebecca Cooley, vice president of manufactured interior construction and moderator for the series. “This esteemed group of community leaders will provide unique perspectives in response to those challenges, and we look forward to hearing their invaluable insights.”
This is the sixth installment in a series of events focused on resiliency across the greater New Orleans region.
“It’s been powerful to see the response to this series,” said Shelby Russ, AOS president and CEO. “It takes a collective effort to build more resilient communities, not just during a crisis but ones that are committed to making our region stronger, more inclusive and just.”
All of these events are free and open to the public. Attendees will tune in via Zoom and can register online at https://thinkaos.com/events/industry-discussion-nonprofit-resiliency/.
