Anonymous Donors Buys Drums, Helmets for New Orleans High School Band Students

NEW ORLEANS – NOPD Sgt. Gregory Johnson and Officer James Caire were contacted this Mardi Gras season by an anonymous donor who offered to purchase brand new equipment for their band students at McDonogh 35 Senior High School.

Both officers, who are also brothers, have volunteered their time for the last several years teaching students who play percussion instruments and participate in the school's color guard team. The anonymous donor purchased a total of 20 gold helmets and 32 drum heads for members of the band.
