Amy B. Bakay, SHRM-SCP

Owner, HR NOLA

New Orleans Chamber Member Since 2017

“As a Chamber member, Bakay can forge strong relationships with other businesses in the community.”

Amy Bakay’s thriving HR consultancy firm works with businesses across many different industries and sizes. As a small business owner herself, Bakay knows how important it is to connect and grow with other business owners, which is one of the reasons she joined the New Orleans Chamber. She credits the Chamber’s networking events for giving her the opportunity to meet with new and existing local business owners.

HR NOLA, Bakay’s company, was founded in 2017 and specializes in providing a full suite of human resource services to small and medium-sized organizations—from hire to retire. They provide risk assessments, monthly HR consulting, HR placements, and workforce development workshops among a myriad of offerings tailored to growing businesses. The Chamber has always been a big part of Bakay’s growth, from HR NOLA’s Grand Opening ribbon-cutting ceremony to continuing education opportunities.

Bakay’s expertise reaches beyond her own business. As an adjunct professor in employment law at Tulane, and with her role as the President-Elect of NOLA SHRM, Bakay advances her professional reach, and her Chamber membership provides additional credibility in the business community. As a chamber member she gets the opportunity to make relationships with other businesses in the community, which helps both businesses to grow, and potentially collaborate in the future.

Bakay also makes use of the Chamber’s up-to-date business listings, publications, and events. These give her the opportunity to learn at seminars, go to networking events, and to continue to make contacts in the New Orleans area—one of many reasons she is a proud Chamber member.
