NEW ORLEANS – The American Heart Association (AHA) will welcome more than 17,000 professionals from around the world to the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for the 2016 Scientific Sessions from Saturday, Nov. 12, through Wednesday, Nov. 16.
This year, more than 800 sessions and 4,000 presentations will be made, including 19 late breaking clinical trials and recent research on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
With more than 22.5 million volunteers and supporters, the AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. The AHA supports research, education and stronger public policies supporting the association’s mission to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The Scientific Session event is the premier cardiovascular research and instructional meeting in the world.
The AHA last held the Scientific Sessions event in New Orleans in 2008. This year’s event is projected to have an economic impact of nearly $20 million.
