NEW ORLEANS – The American Heart Association recently announced the 2019 "New Orleans Go Red for Women" Chair and Executive Leadership Team – Caitlin Cain, a certified economic developer and CEO of the World Trade Center New Orleans.
Cain will serve as the 2019 New Orleans Go Red for Women Chairperson and also oversee the 2019 New Orleans Go Red for Women Luncheon, which takes place at the Hyatt Regency, on March 29, 2019.
“Caitlin Cain, who has an immense passion for wellness, understands that as a CEO, she has the opportunity to use her platform to spread a powerful message about women’s heart health across the city,” said Jamelle Lacey, the director of Go Red for Women at the American Heart Association. “As Chairperson, she is opening doors to companies and organizations that can become engaged in the Go Red for Women movement. Cain is an ambassador for women’s heart health and is supporting the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a New Orleans of longer, healthier lives.”
The Executive Leadership Team also includes Mag Bickford, Suzanne Whitaker, Kristi Trail, Bridget Neal, Jerry Hingle, Angela LaCouer, Janie Glade, and Diane Lyons.
Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. Heart disease is the main killer of women both across the country, and within the Greater New Orleans region. Cardiovascular diseases, which include stroke, claim the life of a woman about every 80 seconds.
Since its debut fifteen years ago, Go Red For Women has brought together thousands of women who’ve worked to eradicate heart disease and stroke around the world.
The movement provides a platform for women and their families to lead healthier lives, and drive collective action for community transformation. It also encourages women to demand equal access to healthcare for themselves and their families, and explore STEM-related careers.
The Go Red for Women luncheon is not only about wearing red; it serves as cornerstone event of the Go Red For Women movement in local communities.
