NEW ORLEANS – Adams and Reese’s New Orleans partner and diversity committee chair Jaimmé A. Collins was named one of the “Top 15 Business Women in Louisiana” by the National Women’s Council, founder and CEO of the National Diversity Council Dennis Kennedy announced.
Collins will officially be recognized at the Louisiana Women’s Conference on Sept. 21 at Le Meridien in New Orleans. The organization’s selection process seeks to identify honorees who have reached the top of their professions, are respected and successful leaders within their respective organization. The individuals must also show drive, innovate and inspire others to succeed while contributing to business growth and the strategic direction of their organizations.
Other criteria for the distinction are demonstrating a high level of integrity and ethical behavior, serving as an inspiring role model and active mentor to women within the industry, holding a proven track record of achievements in the area of expertise and contribute to business development, and establishing a commitment to corporate citizenship.
In her role with Adams and Reese, Collins provides general corporate governance advice and handles related litigation for clients. She counsels clients on contractual and general business issues as well as compliance issues related to government regulatory agencies.
Collins has conducted a number of internal investigations and is experienced in quickly assessing risks and managing the response with clients by working with investigating governmental authorities, the media and outside consultants. She also has handled commercial litigation involving breach of contract, disputes between corporate directors and shareholders, property disputes, insurance coverage and products liability.
In addition, Collins is a member of the Board of Directors for University Medical Center New Orleans Hospital and the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans – an agency dedicated to offering free mental health services exclusively to children. In 2014, she received the Urban League Empowerment Award from the National Urban League, was honored with the 2013 National Diversity Council's Glass Ceiling Award for her diversity efforts and leadership in the workplace. In 2011, she received "Women of the Year" honors from New Orleans CityBusiness, and she received the Karl Connor Award from the A.P. Tureaud Chapter of the Black Law Students Association at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
