NEW ORLEANS – Adams and Reese announced Lisa E. Maurer has joined the firm as Special Counsel in the Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group in its New Orleans office. Maurer focuses her practice on public finance law and brings with her more than 25 years of experience representing local governments, conduit issuers, non-profit entities and other private business entities in various public finance projects.
Most recently, she served as in-house counsel, Director of Contract Management and EPA Quality Assurance Manager for the University of New Orleans Research and Technology Foundation, Inc.
“I am excited to join Adams and Reese as a member of its strong Transactions and Public Finance Teams,” Maurer said. “I look forward to working with other Adams and Reese attorneys and helping our clients plan and successfully complete their projects.”
Among Maurer’s accomplishments, she has served as bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel to various local and state government organizations and as bond counsel on public finance projects involving conduit financing for multi-family housing facilities, economic development facilities, colleges and universities, and state-wide loan programs. Maurer has also served as underwriter’s counsel to numerous national and regional investment banking firms as well as private and non-profit entities.
Professionally and in the community, Maurer is active in both the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. She also previously participated as a panelist at the National Association of Bond Lawyers Annual Conference. Maurer has been recognized as a Best Lawyer® in Public Finance and, in 2004, was honored among the New Orleans CityBusiness “Women of the Year” finalists.
Maurer earned her J.D. from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center and her B.A. in Criminology from LSU.
