NEW ORLEANS – Adams and Reese attorney Lara E. White, a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office, has been elected At-Large Council Member for the American Bar Association Section of Litigation for a three-year term beginning during the 2016-2017 bar year. She has also been appointed to the Section of Litigation’s newly created Strategic Planning Committee, which will undertake the Section’s first comprehensive strategic planning process in 10 years.
The Council for the ABA Section of Litigation, the group’s governing body, establishes its policies and positions and facilitates all Section business. The Section provides litigators in all practice areas with the resources necessary to become successful and experienced advocates. Members have numerous opportunities for networking and career advancement as well as access to a large portfolio of professional and business development resources, including books, periodicals, CLE seminars and webinars.
In previous appointments with the ABA Section of Litigation, White served as Co-Chair for the Section for the 2016 ABA Annual Meeting, which took place last month in San Francisco. She also served three- year terms as Co-Chair of the ABA Products Liability Committee and as a Member of the Regional Meetings Committee from 2012-2015. Additionally, she served as Co-Chair of the 2014 and 2015 Women of the Section of Litigation CLE Conferences.
At Adams and Reese, White is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. She has litigated cases in state and federal courts across the country for more than twenty years, including in some of the nation’s most difficult jurisdictions, firm reps said. White focuses her litigation practice on the strategic management of complex cases including discovery, document management, witness development, briefing and presentation of dispositive motions, settlement evaluation and negotiation and trials. She has extensive experience supervising teams of attorneys and paralegals and managing joint defense team relationships, firm reps said.
White is an American Arbitration Association (AAA)-trained mediator. She is listed on the approved Register of Civil Mediators maintained by the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. White was also named Adams and Reese ADR Practice Team Leader.
