NEW ORLEANS – More than 12,000 physicians, scientists, researchers and healthcare professionals from around the world will gather in New Orleans June 5-8 as the American Diabetes Association (ADA) hosts its 2026 Scientific Sessions at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The annual conference is recognized as the world’s largest scientific meeting focused on diabetes research, prevention and care. The event will showcase the latest developments in diabetes and obesity research, treatment, prevention and emerging technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes.
The meeting comes as more than 40 million Americans are living with diabetes, highlighting the growing importance of advances in treatment, prevention and long-term disease management.
Topics scheduled for discussion include obesity and metabolic health, early detection and disease prevention, cardiometabolic outcomes, artificial intelligence and technology in diabetes care, beta cell replacement and regenerative medicine, and next-generation therapies focused on long-term remission and potential cures.
The conference will feature thousands of original scientific presentations, expert-led discussions and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration among members of the global diabetes community.
One of the event’s featured programs will be the ADA Innovation Challenge on June 6, where emerging companies will present new technologies and ideas designed to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.
The Scientific Sessions also serves as a major venue for the release of new clinical research findings, updated treatment recommendations and practice-changing scientific developments that help shape diabetes care worldwide.
